Since I am not comfortable with my ability to write, after I plagiarized the chorus to Song \u00a0081 \u2013 Vision<\/a> from a dictionary, it was easy for me to use other\u2019s words, especially words from the scriptures, in my songs. So, several of my songs are direct quotes from the scriptures. You can tell which book of scripture I was reading when, based on the words quoted and the date the song was written (e.g. Song 106 \u2013 Nephi\u2019s Vision<\/a>, Song 118 \u2013 A Song of My Beloved<\/a>, Song 122 \u2013 The Song of Moses<\/a>, Song 144 \u2013 Oh That I Were An Angel v-1<\/a>, Song 151 \u2013 Hear God\u2019s Word<\/a>, Song 153 \u2013 The Great Cause<\/a>, Song 155 \u2013 Help Me Set Us Free<\/a>, Song 166 \u2013 Fathers, Sons, & Responsibility<\/a>, Song 344 \u2013<\/a> David\u2019s Song for Saul<\/a>, Song 345 \u2013<\/a> David\u2019s Psalm of Praise<\/a>, Song 347 \u2013<\/a> Psalm to Thank the Lord<\/a>, Song 348 \u2013<\/a> David\u2019s Blessing<\/a>, Song 354 \u2013 O That I Were An Angel version 2<\/a>, Song 358 – Psalm of Nephi<\/a>, Song 363 – II Nephi 22 or Isaiah 12<\/a>, Song 365 \u2013 The Voice of the Lord<\/a>, Song 366 \u2013 Ammon Glories in the Lord<\/a>, Song 367 \u2013<\/a> Mary\u2019s Psalm<\/a>, Song 368 \u2013 The Lord\u2019s Prayer<\/a>, Song 370 \u2013 The Great Intercessory Prayer<\/a>, Song 371 \u2013 Oh That Ye Had Repented<\/a>, Song 376 – Revelations 15:3-4<\/a>, Song 382 – A Son of Praise<\/a>, Song 385 \u2013 A Vineyard<\/a>, Song 389 \u2013 Face-to-Face<\/a>,\u00a0Song 394 – Hosanna<\/a>), and Song 395 – Sing Together<\/a>). As I was reading the Doctrine & Covenants<\/a> of the LDS Church in December of 1992, I came across the words for a new song about Zion (D&C 84<\/a>:99-102), and this moved me down the path resulting in the songs listed above. I see these songs as an additional way to study these scriptures. A way which is closer to ancient rites, like Australian Aborigine Song Lines, and how ancient nomadic people passed on oral traditions.<\/p>\n
